Installation Services

We offer a complete supply and installation service for flexible flue liners as part of our wood burner and multi-fuel stove installations across Scotland. Our process includes:

Chimney inspection and survey
Supply of appropriately sized liner (typically 5″, 6″ or 7″)
Installation using industry-approved methods and anchoring kits
Insulation wrapping where required
Cowl, clamp, and register plate installation
HETAS Certification and post-installation safety check

Do I need a liner if I have an existing chimney?

Yes. In most cases, an unlined masonry chimney is not suitable for modern wood burning stoves. Flexible Flue Liners improve safety, performance, and legal compliance.

How Long Do Flexible Flue Liners Last?

With proper use and regular sweeping, Schiedel liners can last 10–20 years or more.

To promote longevity of your liner, follow these key steps:

Light your appliance using Hot Box ® Firestarter every time you use it. This consisted method produces more heat more quickly and reduces the build up of creosote, tar and deposits during the important initial combustion phase.
Use only “Oven Ready” wood fuel with a moisture content of 20% or less, always choose a Wood Sure Approved Fuel Supplier.
Carry out regular Maintenance, book a wood burner service with Hot Box ® at least once per year. If you use your stove as a primary heat source, consider twice per year. Refer to some of our Guides.

Can I Fit Flexible Flue Liners Myself?

DIY installation is not recommended. HETAS-registered engineers ensure the liner is safely installed, sealed, and compliant.

Will the liner affect the appearance of my fireplace?

No. The liner is hidden within the chimney. Only the stove and external terminal are visible.
