To get the best performance from your Jydepejsen wood burning stove, it’s essential to use a clean, efficient lighting method that supports the stove’s advanced air intake system. Follow these steps for optimal results:

1. Open the air controls fully
   Locate the DuplicAir ® air control slider beneath or on the side of your stove and slide it fully open. This allows maximum airflow during the lighting phase.

2. Place a Hot Box ® Firestarter in the firebox
   We recommend using a Hot Box ® Firestarter – the best firelighter for Jydepejsen stoves – as it provides fast, clean ignition without the need for kindling or chemical products.

3. Build a small log structure above
   Stack 2–3 seasoned hardwood logs in a criss-cross or lean-to shape above the Firestarter, ensuring plenty of space around the wood for airflow.

4. Light the Firestarter
   Ignite the wick and close the door, leaving it very slightly ajar for the first few minutes if preferred to allow the flue to draw.

5. Once the fire is established, close the door fully and adjust the air control to regulate the burn rate and temperature. Use your DuplicAir ® slider to fine-tune flame size and heat output.
